To celebrate summer, I’m launching a RECYCLE, REDUCE, REUSE project series, where I recycle and repurpose objects that I’ve consumed throughout the month and reuse them as beautiful, functional everyday objects.

Project #2

POM POM BOOKMARKS

What you’ll need……

Popsicle sticks

Pom pom balls

Glue gun

Mod Podge

Let’s begin……

STEP 1: Apply 2 coats of acrylic paint to the front and back of the popsicle sticks. Make sure the paint has completely dried before you apply the second coat.

STEP 2: Apply 1 coat of Mod Podge to seal the paint. Allow Mod Podge to dry completely before starting step 3.

STEP 3: Lightly trim off some of the fur in back of each pom-pom ball creating a flat surface in the back for each pom-pom pair to rest against.

STEP 4:  Using a hot glue gun, glue 1 pom-pom ball to the front of the popsicle stick. Using a hot glue gun, glue 1 pom-pom ball to the back of the popsicle stick.

COMPLETION TIME:  30 minutes

Here’s the finish product!……
