Great friends, good food and lots of laughs, “I wish every morning could start like this”; An instant response to my past Kitchensurfing experience this March. Is it really possible to have a 3 course meal equipped with a private chef, a stellar ambiance and all your close girlfriends from the comfort of your own home? Yes, indeed, and with  Kitchensurfing I got just that!

Kitchensurfing is a New York based community for unique food and social experiences. Kitchensurfing matches professional chefs with individuals who want to enjoy a meal together in the luxury of their own homes without the hassle of grocery shopping or cleaning up.

The American Family Style – Boozy Classic Brunch was our menu of choice, a complete brunch meal that featured unlimited Mimosas and Bloody Marys, Homemade Sour Cream Biscuits, Challah French Toast, Seasonal Fritattas, Berkshire Sausage, and Turkey Bacon prepared by Chef Julia Greene.

The Kitchensurfing experience was the perfect way to wrap up my birthday celebration on Sunday, March 29th. The day started at noon with the arrival of Chef Julia who was extremely friendly and pleasant. Her brief introduction and quick conversation with the girls and I made everyone very comfortable and even more excited about all the great food to come. Fully equipped with all the cooking utensils and recipe ingredients she needed to execute the Menu, Chef Julia quickly got to work.

Brunch started with delicious Homemade Sour Cream Biscuits served with a special raw honey and butter dip and strawberry jam. Along with the Sour Cream Biscuits came an appetizing fruit platter and to kickstart girl talk, Mimosas and Bloody Marys.

Everyone was having a great time but most importantly, enjoying the food!

The dishes continued to get better, and by the arrival of the main course everyone was convinced that this was by far one of the best social food experiences they had ever encountered. Seasonal Fritattas baked with potatoes, onions, kale, mushrooms, and zucchini, Berkshire Sausage fresh and delicious served with dijon mustard and charred scallions the food was good indeed! Then came the best Challah French Toast served with pecan-date butter, apple compote, maple syrup and fresh whip cream, Berkshire Bacon local, sustainable, nitrate free and thick cut for the girls and organic turkey bacon for me.

The entire menu was executed and served  in just 30 minutes. And to my surprise, my entire kitchen including all the dish-ware and utensils were cleaned and put away.

My first Kitchensurfing experience was a 10 out of 10. The experience exceeded my expectations, scoring high ranks in service, food sourcing, quality and taste. Although the service can be a bit pricey for the average home dinner, it is definitely worth the splurge especially if used for a special occasion. I mean, how often do you get restaurant quality food and service at home? Not much right, with Kitchensurfing you can experience just that!


Would I recommend Kitchensurfing to a friend? Definitely, Yes!
