6 Adjustments To Your Morning Routine That Will Make Your Entire Day!

1. MAKE YOUR BED

It may seem like a small gesture but yes, making your bed every morning can improve your life! Starting your day by making your bed sets the tone for the rest of your day as it gives you an instant feeling of accomplishment and organization and therefore makes you feel like you are on top of things. Besides, a clean space helps to lower your stress levels as it can be very calming. The best part? You get to come home to a clean space after a long day of work, school or running errands and simply relax!

2. MEDITATE (+ 10 MINUTES CARDIO)

While meditation can be helpful at any time of day it is said that the best time to meditate is in the morning as it can better prepare us for the challenges that may arise later in the day thus approaching any issue in a calmer and more concise fashion. Morning meditation therefore is a great way to minimize and/or prevent stress throughout the day. If you are someone that often times  face the “morning blues”, morning meditation is the perfect way to kickstart your day and wake up on the bright side!

If you wake up super early and have a little extra time, add in a 10 to 15 minute fitness session to get your muscles moving and burn a few extra calories before starting the day

3. BUT FIRST, DRINK A GLASS OF WATER 

Drinking lots of water throughout the day plays an important role in the maintenance of your overall health but drinking a large glass of water first thing in the morning (on an empty stomach) has a plethora of health benefits. As you sleep your body becomes dehydrated, drinking water right when you wake up will instantly rehydrate your body as it increases the flow of oxygen through the body, jumpstart your metabolism and help flush out toxins, thus purifying the colon and allowing nutrients to be absorbed more easily. It also helps you stay fuller longer therefore helping you eat less in order to avoid over-eating throughout the day.

Before breakfast follow up with a second glass of water, this time adding a few slices of lemon (+lemon juice) as this will naturally flush the liver and stimulate stomach acid production, aid in healthy digestion, boost your immune system and energy levels and give you a natural morning  glow!

4. DON’T SKIP BREAKFAST

Mornings without breakfast make it difficult for your body to make up for nutritional shortages later in the day. Apart from providing us with energy, eating a “healthy” breakfast daily equips the body with important nutrients such as calcium, iron, protein, potassium and fiber thus helps you to make better food choices throughout the day. A healthy breakfast every morning in addition, provides helps you maintain a healthy weight as it keeps you from overeating throughout the day. Even better? Having a healthy breakfast daily, will help permanently cure your morning crankiness!

5. MAKE A TO-DO LIST

Nothing brings productivity to a day like planning it ahead of time. Whether it’s jotting down a list of goals you need to accomplish or making a simple to-do list, planning for the  day helps you to keep track of everything you need to get done in an organized and free flowing manner. You’ll have a better sense of  control on the outcome of your day, trust us!

 6.CONJURE UP A POSITIVE ATTITUDE

Before heading out the door, conjure up a positive attitude. As positive thinking can lower rates of depression and levels of distress, and improve your overall psychological and physical well-being ensuring happiness and encouraging smiles. Try reciting positive affirmations to yourself or even out loud  that will encourage positive thoughts and reassure us that that our wishful words will become a reality.
