MATRIX BIOLAGE REVIEW

Here’s the rundown:

MATRIX BIOLAGE – CONDITIONING BALM

PRODUCT CLAIMS:

  • Conditions and detangles while adding softness
  • Seals the cuticle to lock the moisture
  • Suitable for color-treated hair

MY THOUGHTS/REVIEWS: After cleansing with my normal Dr. Bronner’s Tea Tree Pure-Castile Liquid Soap, I applied the Matrix Biolage Conditioning balm directly on my wet hair. My curls were instantly shinier and more defined after applying the conditioning balm however, the product lacked slip and did not help my hair during the detangling process. Just a few days after using this product my hair looked and felt very dry and lack luster.

WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT ? No, I would not recommend this product for 4A natural hair.

MATRIX BIOLAGE – HYDRA SOURCE MASK

PRODUCT CLAIMS:

  •  Instantly deep conditions for healthy looking hair
  • Revives dry strands for more shine and manageability
  • Paraben-free formula is also suitable for color-treated hair

MY THOUGHTS/REVIEWS: After cleansing with my normal Dr. Bronner’s Tea Tree Pure-Castile Liquid Soap, I applied the Matrix Biolage Conditioning balm directly on my wet hair. As directed, I let the product sit in my hair for 5 minutes and covered with a shower cap for added moisture. After rinsing out the product my hair was noticeably shinier and softer. With the application of my whipped Shea Butter and Black Jamaican Castor Oil my hair was able to stay moisturized throughout the week.

WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT ? If you’re the girl who likes to switch things up in your routine from time to time then I would definitely recommend this product. It gets the job done and it is safe to use on occasion.

MATRIX BIOLAGE – WET BRUSH DETANGLING COMB

PRODUCT CLAIMS:

  • For thick, curly and straight
  • Perfect for men, women and kids
  • Works great on wet and dry hair!
  • Great for hair extensions and wigs

MY THOUGHTS/REVIEWS: I was really impressed by how well this comb detangled my hair when it was wet however, the results were not as good when detangling my hair dry.

WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT ? I would recommend this comb for wet detangling.

MATRIX BIOLAGE – CLEANSING CONDITIONER FOR COARSE HAIR

PRODUCT CLAIMS:

  • No Parabens, No Heavy Silicones, No Harsh Salts
  • Great for Coarse hair
  • Suitable for Color Treated Hair
  • Low-lathering
  • Fast-rinsing
  • Soap-free cleansing conditioner

MY THOUGHTS/REVIEWS: The Cleansing Conditioner for coarse hair is my favorite of all the Matrix products. Besides the obvious reason that the product line was specifically designed for women with coarse hair, the products successfully made my hair softer, shinier, and smoother. In addition to the AMAZING smell, this product made my hair much more manageable and gave it a noticeably healthier look and feel.

WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT ? Most Definitely

MATRIX BIOLAGE – LEAVE-IN TREATMENT SMOOTHING CREAM FOR COARSE HAIR

PRODUCT CLAIMS:

  • Helps to control frizz and static
  • Suitable for Color Treated Hair
  • Provides a smoothing layer for humidity control
  • Great for Coarse hair
  • Nourishes unruly strands

MY THOUGHTS/REVIEWS: The Leave-in treatment, like the cleansing conditioner worked very well for my hair. As the product claims, the leave-in treatment helped to control the frizz and static in my hair throughout the week and helped to keep my hair smooth during humid temperatures. My hair was softer and more manageable after the first use and not to mention the AMAZING smell which lasted throughout the week.

WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT ? Most Definitely

KITCHENSURFING REVIEW

Great friends, good food and lots of laughs, “I wish every morning could start like this”; An instant response to my past Kitchensurfing experience this March. Is it really possible to have a 3 course meal equipped with a private chef, a stellar ambiance and all your close girlfriends from the comfort of your own home? Yes, indeed, and with  Kitchensurfing I got just that!

Kitchensurfing is a New York based community for unique food and social experiences. Kitchensurfing matches professional chefs with individuals who want to enjoy a meal together in the luxury of their own homes without the hassle of grocery shopping or cleaning up.

The American Family Style – Boozy Classic Brunch was our menu of choice, a complete brunch meal that featured unlimited Mimosas and Bloody Marys, Homemade Sour Cream Biscuits, Challah French Toast, Seasonal Fritattas, Berkshire Sausage, and Turkey Bacon prepared by Chef Julia Greene.

The Kitchensurfing experience was the perfect way to wrap up my birthday celebration on Sunday, March 29th. The day started at noon with the arrival of Chef Julia who was extremely friendly and pleasant. Her brief introduction and quick conversation with the girls and I made everyone very comfortable and even more excited about all the great food to come. Fully equipped with all the cooking utensils and recipe ingredients she needed to execute the Menu, Chef Julia quickly got to work.

Brunch started with delicious Homemade Sour Cream Biscuits served with a special raw honey and butter dip and strawberry jam. Along with the Sour Cream Biscuits came an appetizing fruit platter and to kickstart girl talk, Mimosas and Bloody Marys.

Everyone was having a great time but most importantly, enjoying the food!

The dishes continued to get better, and by the arrival of the main course everyone was convinced that this was by far one of the best social food experiences they had ever encountered. Seasonal Fritattas baked with potatoes, onions, kale, mushrooms, and zucchini, Berkshire Sausage fresh and delicious served with dijon mustard and charred scallions the food was good indeed! Then came the best Challah French Toast served with pecan-date butter, apple compote, maple syrup and fresh whip cream, Berkshire Bacon local, sustainable, nitrate free and thick cut for the girls and organic turkey bacon for me.

The entire menu was executed and served  in just 30 minutes. And to my surprise, my entire kitchen including all the dish-ware and utensils were cleaned and put away.

My first Kitchensurfing experience was a 10 out of 10. The experience exceeded my expectations, scoring high ranks in service, food sourcing, quality and taste. Although the service can be a bit pricey for the average home dinner, it is definitely worth the splurge especially if used for a special occasion. I mean, how often do you get restaurant quality food and service at home? Not much right, with Kitchensurfing you can experience just that!

Would I recommend Kitchensurfing to a friend? Definitely, Yes!
